The consequences of untreated gastrointestinal issues can include leaky gut, malabsorption of nutrients, fatigue, chronic inflammation, generally poor health and other chronic diseases.
Aside from your skin, your gut is the primary barrier between you and the outside world. The lining of your gut is composed of tight gap junctions that only allow micronutrients to bypass into your bloodstream. This is how food is absorbed and assimilated. However, when these tight gap junctions are compromised by certain foods (like gluten and dairy), stress, toxins and infections, you get leaky gut.
Every time you eat, things like toxins, microbes, and undigested food particles that are not meant to pass through these tight junctions escape into your bloodstream. Your immune system launches a response to attack these “foreign invaders,” thinking they are pathogens. Over time, this chronic inflammation leads to chronic disease.
Give yourself the opportunity to tell the doctor what you have been experiencing and how it got to this stage.
Based on that conversation and the results of your labs, the nature, degree and source of your health issues will be determined.
An individualized treatment plan will be recommended, started and adjusted as needed based on your feedback to the doctor during treatment until you are happy and healthy again.
If you suspect you have a gastrointestinal disorder come in to our clinic, have a caring consultation and get tested if necessary.

Our Practice
Indigo Integrative Health Clinic is a medical practice staffed with doctors who care.
It is not the typical “medical factory” where you sit in a giant waiting room filling out forms before you are seen by a harried doctor who spends five minutes with you and sends you off with a pharmaceutical prescription. Indigo’s doctors do a true consultation with you as a collaborator in your own health care.
A typical new patient consultation lasts 90 minutes. It consists of the opportunity for you to describe in detail your symptoms, how those symptoms make you feel and how having them affects your life.
At Indigo we treat the whole person, NOT just your symptoms. Integrative medicine differs from most conventional medical practices in that identifying the cause of the symptoms is the primary focus of the diagnostic efforts.
Treatment is designed to address the root cause, not just to interrupt, or mask the symptoms. If your goal is to return to a state of vibrant health, make an appointment to see our doctors and get the correct diagnosis, treatment and care you deserve.
