Thermography is a non-invasive, non-radiated, non-compression test that visualizes heat and activity versus mass and structure. This screening can also determine functional patterns (thyroid and autonomic immune function), pain, circulation and inflammation areas (arthritis, back & carotid artery) and determine severity.Screenings are also helpful to visualize digestive issues, dental, sinus and unexplained occurrences that other tests have a hard time determining.

Breast Screenings:

Not all masses in the breast are cancerous (in fact most are breast fibroids and cysts). Breast tissue is fatty and generally exudes cool temperatures in normal findings. Most Women’s breast tissue is dense, making it hard to see masses with traditional diagnostic tools.Cancer requires a blood supply (to feed and grow) and generates heat as it is feeding and growing (Angiogenesis). This is what thermography visualizes, instead of mass. Fluid filled masses do not generate heat and fibroids are an inflammation issue, therefore, no blood supply.Abnormal breast screenings on a thermal scan have a few things in common.Asymmetry: One breast is a different temperature than the other (more than 2 degrees).Hot Spots: Random areas of intense heat.Vascular blood supply: Which generate heat as they feed & grow.It takes about 30 minutes total for breast: (10 min paperwork, 10 minutes cool down/acclimation time, screening takes about 5 minutes) Upper and full body usually take about 30-45 minutes. The process involves disrobing for each area scanned - as skin is needed for temperature visual. The female technician is mindful of you for this process and focus is on the laptop visual, not the client.Scans are interpreted by a medical doctor. The technician may go over your report to alert you what is likely to be determined by the doctor. Turnaround time for receiving reports are 3-5 business days. You can have your report sent to via email, paper copy or disc copy. You are responsible to share this information with your doctor. Only if we screen at your Doctor’s office, you may ask us to forward to your Doctor.INSURANCE:Insurance never covers thermography, however you can use your Health Savings Account or flex-spend dollars to pay for it. You will receive an itemized receipt for submitting. The service must be paid for at time of the screening.Codes for breast: CPT code: 93740ICD-10 Z00.8 (no close family history of breast cancer)ICD-10 Z80.3 (close family history of breast cancer)A receipt will be given at time of screening for submitting.Costs are as follows:Breast $225, upper body (pelvic up) $375, Full body (head to toe) $475Comparative breast screenings are recommended 3-4 months after the first one (to determine stability or change) This screening is decreased in price to $150 (an important factor to compare)Yearly breast screenings are $150, yearly full body scans are $400, yearly half body are $300
