See “Understanding Integrative Medicine" below for a quick explanation of how integrative medicine can help put an end to your suffering.
What is it?
Integrative medicine focuses on the prevention, treatment and reversal of chronic illness by understanding and treating the root causes of illness.
Integrative medicine integrates western medicine with more natural holistic medicine.
The practice of integrative medicine affirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals, and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing.
How is it practiced?
A person with health issues or goals consults with the doctor who listens closely to their description of the symptoms being experienced and a timeline and history of the person’s lifestyle, stress levels, medical problems and procedures.
Each New Patient visit begins with a 90-minute consultation (minimum).
The doctor develops a deep understanding of the nature and root cause of the person’s issues, and their experience of those issues.
Based on this discovery phase, specialized lab tests will be ordered and performed to get feedback needed to make and confirm a diagnosis.
Once lab results are obtained, evaluated, discussed and explained as to what they reveal, a diagnosis is made, and a unique treatment plan is recommended.
As the treatment plan is implemented the patient’s feedback is received by the doctor during follow-up sessions and the plan is continued or adjusted based on the experience and results reported by the patient.
What you can do
Give yourself the opportunity to tell the doctor what you have been experiencing and how it got to this stage.
Based on that conversation and the results of your labs, the nature, degree and source of your health issues will be determined.
An individualized treatment plan will be recommended, started and adjusted as needed based on your feedback to the doctor during treatment until you are happy and healthy again.

Indigo Integrative Health Clinic is a medical practice staffed with doctors who care.
It is not the typical “medical factory” where you sit in a giant waiting room filling out forms before you are seen by a harried doctor who spends five minutes with you and sends you off with a pharmaceutical prescription. Indigo’s doctors do a true consultation with you as a collaborator in your own health care.
A typical new patient consultation lasts 90 minutes. It consists of the opportunity for you to describe in detail your symptoms, how those symptoms make you feel and how having them affects your life.
At Indigo we treat the whole person, NOT just your symptoms. Integrative medicine differs from most conventional medical practices in that identifying the cause of the symptoms is the primary focus of the diagnostic efforts.
Treatment is designed to address the root cause, not just to interrupt, or mask the symptoms. If your goal is to return to a state of vibrant health, make an appointment to see our doctors and get the correct diagnosis, treatment and care you deserve.
